After the Call is a Heavy Lies the Helmet podcast meant to serve those beginning their plunge into critical care, or those who are simply seeking a refresher on certain topics. Hosted by Flight Nurse Jordan White, the goal is to provide easy-to-understand critical care concepts and content that you can integrate into your current practice. The focus is not only on critical care topics, but also topics that are relevant to the pre-hospital critical care and emergency environment. From rookie to seasoned veteran, we hope everyone can enjoy and take something away.
Jordan White, BSN, RN, CFRN found his passion for pre-hospital emergency care as a high school student volunteering with the National Ski Patrol. Jordan became an active ALS provider with several volunteer rescue squads in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. After graduating nursing school, he began working at the University of Virginia in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit as well as the Emergency Department. After several years as an RN, Jordan began flying for a fixed wing air ambulance out of Miami, Florida, performing international medevac missions. Since then, Jordan has been flying rotor wing air medical for the past three years and currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife and two dogs. Jordan has a passion for education and feels that it is an excellent way to give back to the industry as well as impact the profession in a positive way. Jordan is also the lead nurse educator for IA MED and enjoys speaking to and teaching fellow providers. In his spare time, Jordan loves to be outdoors and on the lake with his friends and family.
